What apps are like Co-Star?
Apps that cover similar ground include The Pattern, CHANI, TimePassages, Sanctuary, Nebula, Astrocot and Mystogian. We compare what each source says about readings, journaling, zodiac and price. Mystogian makes one of these apps, so read this as a comparison, not a ranking. Every fact below links to its source.
What does Co-Star say it does?
Co-Star calls itself "the astrology app that deciphers the mystery of human relations through NASA data and biting truth." It says its interpretations come from real human astrologers who "collaborate with AI technology." It is listed as "Free · In-App Purchases," requires iOS 18.0 or later on iPhone, and is on Google Play. (App Store, Google Play, seen 2026-10-25)
So when people look for apps like Co-Star, they usually want one of these things: a personal chart reading, readings written in a different way, or a different price.
How do the Co-Star alternatives compare?
Everything here comes from each app's own listing or page, seen on 2026-10-25. "Not checked" means we did not confirm it from that page on that date. It does not mean the app lacks it.

Which one fits what you want?
- Content written by astrologers rather than AI: CHANI or TimePassages.
- Readings from human experts: Sanctuary.
- A free natal chart to start: The Pattern or TimePassages.
- AI that runs on your own phone: Astrocot.
- Your chart read against your own journal and decisions: Mystogian.
Whichever you pick, check its chart against a free calculator such as Astro.com with the same settings. Our beginner's comparison covers more apps from a learning angle.
Where does Mystogian fit?
Mystogian reads your birth chart against your own journal and the decisions you log. When you log a decision, it follows up two weeks later and again three months later, if notifications are on, so you can record how it turned out.
The chart is calculated by astronomy code on our server. The AI never calculates placements. You can see and delete what it remembers, and you can switch journal analysis off. Relationship charts are there for people you add.
It runs on iPhone and Android and is in beta.
